Character of a worshiper.

Life is amazing and it never ceases to amaze me. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. In my life, I can certainly confirm this passage of scripture to be true. The cycle of life continues unhindered. Now knowing this and how we allow life to affect us will inevitably determine how we live our lives.

True worshipers understand this. From the outset, they understand that there will be difficult times. There will be sickness and health. They will be a time to gain and a time to lose. They understand the saying "every cloud has a silver lining". The sun goes down and it comes up again as it was ordained to be from the beginning of time.

Should this affect the way I live my life? Not at all. Even in the face of adversity, nothing has to change. Yes, the things that are thrown at us, might be hard to comprehend, but that should not stop us from serving God. That should not stop us from been the people he has called us to be. In fact, the way we react in these situations, good or bad, will actually determine how spiritually mature we really are.

So many Christians today are able to put a smile on their faces when things are going well. Money in the bank, family well fed, things just looking great, but when hardships come their way, they tend to sing a different tune. Our attitude in these times, both good and or bad, should not be dictated to by our circumstances. As worshipers, we turn to Him first and remain thankful in all things. Eph 5:20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have learnt that no matter what my situation, my heart towards the Lord Jesus Christ remains the same  simply because of my love for him. I do not need to get mad when things go wrong,. I do not have to become depressed to despondent because I know he holds tomorrow in his hands. Of-course we are an emotional people and I am not saying we must deny our emotions, not at all. I am however saying, God remains the same and if we can get to this place of understanding, then even in the midst of hardship, we can still praise Him and our lives continue to be an exhibition of His goodness. Ps 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good.Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

When things go wrong, praise him. When things don't work out, praise him, when things come together, just keep on praising him, that is the true mark of a confident worshiper. The character of true worship!

Our love for our Father
