My heart, My storehouse

I spent some time chatting to a friend lately and the subject came to sowing seed and then Holy Spirit began to speak to my heart about the seed of God and where we can find the seed He gives to the sower...

Bear with me as I try to share what I feel He has been saying to me regarding this matter and I hope as you pray and meditate on it that it too will be a revelation which you can apply to your life.

In 2 Cor 9:10-15 (NKJV) we read, 10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, 14 and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Immediately when we get into this passage, we see the words, "He who supplies seed to the sower", we understand the seed we sow in Christ, comes directly from the Source, our heavenly Father. While meditating on this, I saw in a vision, the heart of God, been the (Source) the storeroom where the seed is (Kept) and found. When we sow, we come to the Source, gather the seed and sow into and according to the consistent victory we desire to see in every situation we sow into.

Here in God's heart, we find the seed to meet every need. Where there is brokenness, we sow seed that produces healing. Where there is discord, we sow agreement. Where we see bondage, we sow deliverance.  Where there is financial difficulty, we sow provision. All of these confidently obtained from the Inventor of the seed, a seed which produces a harvest of the "More than enough" kind. An overflow of monumental proportions.

The seed that I am talking about comes directly from the Father's heart and it is made freely available to everyone who has confidence in the Inventor, the Producer of the seed. Where there is lack, I do not sow (seed money) for example, but the seed of provision. The seed I am talking about is the WORD of God, this is the seed. Of course I am not saying that we should not give money, but we must understand money is the result of the provision and when I give (Not Sow), I give out of the abundance of the provision I have received. The principle of sowing and reaping is not limited to money.

God gives the seed to the sower that represents His divine promises, each one found in the heart of God. For example, He is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our provider and therefore when we speak, declare and prophesy (Sow) the seed of God's word and His provision becomes the harvest  of our faith.

One day, a young man walked up to me and placed twenty dollars in my hand and told me that he was sowing a seed. When I asked him what he was expecting to reap, his answer was money. So I gave him his twenty dollars back. In my opinion he got what he was wanting in return. However he showed his displeasure because the expectancy of his heart was to receive more than he had sown. I have found, when I never had a dollar to give, God through His promises made the seed (His Word) available to me. In other words, when I had no money to give, His word became the seed in my mouth and so as I spoke the word (Sowed the seed), God always gave me a harvest. The promise has always been, "And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus".  The harvest is already in Christ. Every need is found in Him and even when we did not deserve it, the Provider of the seed (Life) made Himself freely available so that we who believe can rejoice in the bounty of God.

How many of you expect your kids to sow money first before you would give them their monthly allowance. Some might, but God does not work that way, He has given to me when I least deserve it and even when I never had a dollar to "sow" (Give), as we are taught, God blessed me anyway and that because He loved me... I have never manipulated God in any way shape or form, but have always seen His faithfulness manifest in my life and that because He is my loving Father.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV) 10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Wow, what a promise, God's Word (Seed) producing the harvest!

I know that this will not go down well with many, but I truly believe that if we can understand the true (In my opinion) principle of sowing and reaping that we will see God work in ways that we least expected. 2 Cor 9:13 The gospel you communicate (Speak, declare and prophecy) has found a very articulate voice in your giving and produces a rich harvest of the glory of God.

It is very clear here that as we communicate the promise, seed is released and produces the kind of harvest that will bring glory to God. Friends, I am not saying that we do not give money, but again reiterate, money is NOT the seed,  but the result of the promise (Harvest) and out of the abundance of this harvest, we are able to give into every situation that we are directed to by the Holy Spirit. However, we must remind ourselves, we do not give money to get money, rather we sow the promise and our harvest becomes our reward. Now out of this abundance, my worship is extended through my cheerful giving and this brings glory to God.

Many times when I have ministered in a farming community and especially around harvest time, these farmers would give me the fruit of the seed. A pocket of potatoes here, a crate of tomatoes there all depending where I was at the time. The blessing came out of the harvest, which was a result of the seed. And so it is when I receive money as a gift, it always comes out of the harvest and not out of the seed.

The word of God tells us that His word multiplies our resources (Seed in our hand) and increases the harvest of righteousness. It is God seed, produced in His heart that produces righteousness in us and out of our right standing with God, we become the harvest of His desire.

My friends, I leave you with this, "Gratitude is the language of grace! Your giving has given a voice to his gift, beyond words!"

As you and I sow the word of God, the harvest will produce his gift beyond words...

May God bless you
