The road less travelled

Posted by Mark Labuschagne on Thursday, July 9, 2015
Andi and I are absolutely overwhelmed at how our heavenly Father continues to lead and guide us along what we call the road less travelled. Going to Botswana, cost us everything we had, out of our obedience, we went and did what we heard the Holy Spirit tell us to do. We sold everything we owned, and travelled to a foreign land and saw the hand of the Lord do more in and through us than we could ever have imagined He would do. We got to meet so many people in the fifteen months that we were in Gaborone and we remain grateful for the opportunity we had to serve in the way that we did. We saw many people's lives touched as God graciously ministered to their needs, both in the natural and in the spirit. The number of times we got to minister and see the Lord touch His people, was the inspiration we needed to go and to continue doing all that He desired of us.

The day we were asked to leave Botswana, was a day that we will never forget, as we were caught unawares and never expected our time to end in such an unceremonious way, nevertheless, we knew the Lord had a plan and so we made a decision to remain in the peace our Father had established in our hearts. Even to this day, we were never given a reason as to why could no longer stay on, but we have heard the Botswana Government's attitude towards Churchers had changed over the last number of years and that many ministers permits were not extended. Of course this did leave us wondering, but we were confident that everything would work according to the purpose of God in us, and so we continued to minister throughout South Africa and over a six week period, Andi and I traveled over 10 000kms and got to share the word of God in places like Johannesburg, Phalaborwa, Ermelo, Port Shepstone and on to Cape Town.

The day we left Botswana, we had no place to go to, but the Lord, oh, how amazing He is, opened a door through an unlikely source and for a few day we got to stay on a farm and simply were able to listen to His voice and hear direction proceed out of our Father's heart.

The number of folks that stood by us during this time, was amazing, it was as if our friends just came out when we needed them the most and reached out to us. Ps Conrad and Karen Barnard opening their home to us, Corne and Laetita Gustavson opening their guest farm to us and saying we could use it at any time. Those who support us financially just continued to bless us, friends like Steve Petser, Dr Tiens and Monya Van Der Merwe, Julian Scales, Arnie and Cathy Vermaak, Chad and Heather Boswell, Dana Scott, Lee Jones, Tom and Delena, Louise and Laurence Joubert and lastly, Gerrick and Jill Busl. We would never be able to do what we do without the love and support of these loved ones and we continue to carry them before the Lord believing God for the greater things of heaven to manifest in their hearts.

This week, we were finally able to setup a base for ourselves as we saw the Lord open the door for us. We were about to rent a home, purchase furniture and unpack our bags. Not once has our Father left us or disappointed us, He is faithful to His word and we can testify to this amazing and eternal truth. My encouragement is based on our experience and so we learnt valuable lessons learnt over this time enables us to share with confidence the love and grace our Father lavishes on those who place their trust in Him.

So, the journey continues on the road less travelled and we live in the peace and rest of the Holy God we serve. We love and bless you and thank the Lord for your love, prayers and continued support. We encourage you to pressing beyond the limitations of your understanding and to pursue Jesus with your whole heart and to do so until you live in the glory realm.

Our love for our Father

Mark Labuschagne We are a vessel set apart, cleansed, emptied, consecrated; just standing, waiting every moment for God, in Christ, by the Holy Spirit, to work out in us as much of the holiness and the life of His Son as pleases Him We worship Him only!
