Where does your trust lie

We got to share the word of God this past weekend and I spoke about the subject of trust. I have found it is very easy to say "We trust the Lord" when things are going well, but the words that come out of our mouths when times are tough determines what was in our hearts all along.

When I look at the vast armies that Jehoshaphat was faced with (2 Chron 20:1). I realized the severity of the situation which was evident in the king's response to the report. The bible tells us in verse three that fear set in his heart. However, in the rest of the same verse, the first thing that he did was to seek guidance from the Lord.

I have seen in most cases that I have dealt with, people seem to run to those around them when faced with difficult situations instead of going directly to the source of our deliverance. One thing's for sure, when we enquire of the Lord in any situation, we will find, it is God who by His Spirit answers and gives direction to those who worship Him. As we wait on Him, He will speak and give us understanding of His plan for our future. We never have to rely on our own understanding when we wait on the Lord for guidance.

Friend, if our trust is in the Lord, then we ought to run to Him for guidance when faced with hardship, for in doing so we confirm that our trust is in His divine ability. Andi and I face trials just like you do and on many occasions in the past, when we tried to find solutions to the situations we faced, we always came up short, but found, when we placed our trust in Him, He has never failed to lead us into the perfection that He is.

Today, I want to encourage you to stop whatever you are doing. Stop trying to solve your problems, but rather place your undying trust in His word so that you can taste and see that the Lord is indeed good.

This is your day, a time of great celebration and this even in the midst of your circumstances. A mature Christian is someone who has learnt to remain steadfast in their resolve to honor God no matter what they are faced with. Therefore, trusting God is our reasonable act of worship.

Today, we need to ask ourselves, where does our trust lie... God bless you as your eyes remain steadfast on this truth.

Prov 3:4-6
So shall you find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.
