The Christ-life is meaningful

Posted by Mark Labuschagne on Wednesday, December 29, 2010,
When we pursue the kingdom of God and His righteousness, life becomes meaningful. When I look at the comments and listen to what people have to say, especially this time of the year, then it concerns me that I hear everything that is meaningless confessed but that which is eternal seemingly overlooked. The challenge that lies ahead of us is not what the future has in store, but rather how secure our faith is. Those who place their trust in the Lord have nothing to fear. For the fact of the ma...

Consider everything meaningless

Posted by Mark Labuschagne on Thursday, December 23, 2010,
Spending some time in the Word of God is something that I enjoy and the other day I read the book of Ecclesiastes. The writer expresses himself in a unique way and definitely makes one sit up and take in the words penned in this book. The suggestion that we place too much effort into creating wealth and running after and or chasing something and then turning around and saying it is all meaningless, makes one sit up and think. The life we live today, is one fast pace and we are taught from an ...

True Worship demonstrates love

Posted by Mark Labuschagne on Wednesday, December 15, 2010,
Sixteen years ago, Andi and I were based in a local congregation (Gratefully for a very short season) and during these nine months, it was required of every cell group leader to host the communion portion of the service and on this particular Sunday, it was my turn. Although I had my own ministry at the time, I was asked to form a cell in the area we lived in, which we faithfully carried out. Most of the aspiring preachers in the congregation were men and women who seemed bent on pleasing man...

The confession of my mouth

Posted by Mark Labuschagne on Thursday, December 9, 2010,
Many people speak things over themselves without thinking twice about it. I am sure that you have heard this said a few times before, but we still tend to do the same thing over and over again. We have become a society of "telling it like it is" and accept this as normal. I do not believe we must live in denial either and agree that if I am not feeling well for example, that I can be honest enough to say so, but we do not leave it at that either, we continue to share our faith despite our cir...

Don't let anyone tell you anything different

Posted by Mark Labuschagne on Tuesday, December 7, 2010,
Jesus love for you, is the same yesterday, as it is today and will never cease to change, this is a fact. He is not angry with you, He does not disprove of you, in fact, He delights Himself in you. Zeph 3:17 "For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs".  What a powerful promise we have in this passage of scripture. Therefore we choose this da...

Follow His example

Posted by Mark Labuschagne on Thursday, December 2, 2010,
There was a time when everyone wore the band WWJD (What would Jesus do) and it was an aid to many who wore it, but today, we continue to align ourselves with fellow worshipers who follow the examples set by Christ in the Word of God. His lifestyle was one of constant worship of His Father. He not only desired, but walked in honor of the One True Living God and my friend, if there is any example we must be following, then it be the life of Christ. I want to encourage you to day to put aside yo...

You heard it said...

Posted by Mark Labuschagne on Wednesday, December 1, 2010,
We have all heard it said so many times "Practice makes perfect", but I declare we ought to continue living that which was made perfect. You see the moment we try to live right, we miss the point altogether. By trying to live in this way , we still think it is about us when in fact it has nothing to do with what we can do as this is nothing short of works. Jesus accomplished everything on the cross of calvary over 2000 years ago and today we can walk in the perfection the cross brings. The ju...
