In the midst of a storm

We all go through difficult times at some or other time in our lives, we can take courage in the fact that we are not on our own and that Jesus has overcome all things for and on our behalf (See John 16:33). Yes, some struggle with sickness and others with lack of finances, and some with family issues, but Jesus remains our victor..

When Jesus and His disciples crossed the lake, the word of God tells us the following story in Matt 8:23-27 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

The problem we continue to have today is, when the storms of life come our way, even though we have the Word residing on the inside of us, we still tend to forget the words Jesus spoke. "You of little faith"... I have seen the most difficult thing for most Christians is simply to keep their mouths shut in the midst of a battle and if we were to open them, that it would be words of faith that we offer rather than words of doubt.

Faith is the key ingredient to every battle we face, and although we were not called to fight any of these, we are encouraged to place our trust in the Lord (Isa 26:4). I have learnt that faith is an integral part of our worship and we cannot please (worship) God with out it...

Andi and I have had our fair share of difficulties, and it has not always been easy. Anyone in this life can testify to this, but the lessons I have learnt from my wife in these matters are simply to be still and wait on the Lord and I am extremely grateful for the kindness she has shown me as the head of our home and for the way in which she has dealt with every crisis. Jesus slept through the storm and did so until He was woken. And even when He stood up, He was not affected by His surroundings, for He knew that one word, would change the situation.

Faith is the simply belief in God! If He said it, then that settles it and we move on with our lives in Him. No need to fast forty days, to do a whole bunch of religious activities, to read the Bible backwards and or to quote scripture that so many use only to silence the doubt in their hearts. No, we stand on the word by displaying warrior like attitudes in every situation, ready to declare the victory over everything.

So, today, I know and understand what you are going through, for I to have had to face adversity in my life, but I have seen the God results manifest every time. Even when my faith was at its weakest, God always remained true, and this because He Is...

Remember, your victory is in His hands... God bless you as you continue this journey
Grace, peace and love to you all in Jesus wonderful name
