We worship Him only

The amount of times I hear Christian's complaining about their circumstances, caused me to consider these situations and to make this comment here. Last night, I had the TV on and was watching a program on a local Christian TV channel and the pastor was talking about "Die laaste van die lewe", the "Burdens of this Life" and his deliverance was so dramatic, the sound of his voice carried the seriousness of the message and again I meditated on what he said and the very thing that I have in my heart concerning worship.

Jesus told us that in this world, we will have tribulation; he explained on many different occasions that we would experience hardships and difficulties. Paul and the apostles confirmed this and we too experience the same things they did. So having read this in the Word, we can therefore work out and be certain that even as Born-Again believers, as long as we are locked into this age, the flesh will have to endure all sorts of suffering. But, thanks be to God, Jesus never stopped there, John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world”

As we now worship Christ, we now no longer have to focus on the “Trails and Sorrows” BUT rather on Him. You see worship is not something we talk about, worship is an ‘ACTION’, in this case, everything we are is now directed towards the One we serve (Worship). It is now in our worship that we find TRUE peace. Worship in this sense is to take God at His word and to live it despite our circumstances. And true worshipers therefore take their eyes off their circumstances and place them on Jesus.

My friend it is imperative that we understand this, for when we worship in this manner, we by our faith confirm God’s word and in turn walk in the abiding peace that only He can give. Does this mean we deny our sorrows? Not at all! It simply means that even in the midst of a crisis, our attention remains firmly on the Anointed One and makes Him the “Issue” rather than our circumstances.

Every one of us has a story to tell, the hardships and the pain that we all suffer at times is something we all have had to endure, BUT the exciting thing is this, Jesus said, “I have overcome the world”. There is a new age my friends, which is dawning, where we will not have to go through any of these things ever again. There will be no sorrow there Rev 21:4 “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away”

David said in Ps 34:8 “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him”. Oh my brother and sister, there is so much more that can be gained from placing our faith in His ability and in so doing our worship becomes confirmation of our faith. So, in conclusion, we make a decision this day to WORSHIP Him only, to make Jesus the reason we live, to fix our eyes on the things that are to come and to NEVER lose sight of the One we honor (worship), Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
